Essential in relationship

Trust, Respect,  understanding, love etc are all the very important ingredients of any relationship.  Independence is the one which is very underrated yet the essential one.  What makes me say this? Being self reliant or independent and yet being in a relationship, leads to more powerful and strengthened relations. Sense of ownership and responsibility combined is far more satisfactory than only responsibility. Do you have to check with your partner for every coffee/lunch/dinner meets you plan? Checking to ensure things can be managed at your back or checking to seek permission. Though being independent is beyond these small things. It's about you and it is also about 'us'.  Space and independence in any relationship is as important as trust, love,  respect and understanding.

How do I know what's in heart

More than a decade ago, in my fresh teens,in one unfavourable moment(atleast for me), I was speaking rude and loud to my mother.  When I felt now the ball is in mom's court and my cheeks might turn red, I very smartly changed my stand and said, mommy you know I don't say things by heart, I don't mean them,  I just say in a fit of anger.  My mother gave a very strong statement - I am your mother and  I don't know what is in your heart.   How do you expect people around to know what is in your heart and you don't mean what you say.  It was indeed a life learning for me. No one will look into your heart or will put efforts to understand if you mean it or not.  Say only if you mean it!

The one who shout is fool

Shouting at top of my voice in anger was my usual self. I would speak loud to keep my point across in anger bubble. But at the same time I was well aware of the people and situation. It was certainly not with everyone and everywhere. Where I was having a right out of relationship or power, I would do this with liberty. Long back in professional  set up, I saw Mr A,  who was in power and authority shouting at top of his voice at Mr B, his subordinate , irrespective there were other people around and for some Mr B would also have been the man in power and authority.  Mr B would have been thinking that he is being humiliated and insulted amongst his team and some other people. But I as a neutral, third person that day realized it was not Mr B who was in pity or humiliating position instead Mr A was looking like a fool shouting like this.  When you feel you exercise a dominating position by shouting, actually you are making a fool of yourself. Irrespective of who is right...

Acceptance of Failures

I have had issues in accepting failures. I take every game as big deal, moving on is not very easy for me. But of late I am trying to work on this , understanding not every game is my game or not every game is worth winning. Few months back, I faced one rejection/failure which I was least expecting and it really got me very sad. Eventually after some sense talk with self I realized it was actually not worth it. Not that because I failed but because success would have been more detrimental than being beneficial.  That failure came as blessing in disguise. It gave me a clear picture of what I wanted and where I should put my efforts. I am so glad things did not turn up as I desperately wanted once instead it gave me an opportunity to paint the bigger picture. Failures give you an opportunity to think, analyse and most importantly learn. It makes you more strong and gives you an experiences to ponder upon.
