Check! How are you saying it!

Recent learning through personal experience but can be aptly related to professional

Very commonly we  tend to shout and scream in Anger. We try to speak at the top of our voice to place our point.

Interestingly what you are saying is being overshadowed by how you are saying that is why your two sentences are mixed into one and entire new meaning is formed.

Eg- Supervisor is angry at his subordinate and he choses to shout to release his anger.  He might be saying you have been misbehaving from past few months and your performance is also bad this month.

Employee might register that he has been performing bad past few months.

Instead of focusing on what went bad this month, subordinate is thinking though I performed remarkably well  previous months why is my supervisor still not appreciative about me.
So basically, the tone and pitch of how you said impacted more than what you said.
Feelings are registered quickly than the words.
What is the Learning here:
You will waste your energy in saying so much while listener might be deciphering his/her own meaning.
When you are leading a team it is important to convey the right message in right way.
Important is to focus more on how to say and then on what to say!                                       #AngerManagement
